My Review
Overall Experience
I've only tried methylphenidate once. Took two 36 mg Concerta tablets, but it actually wasn't that bad. The stimulation was much lighter than something like amphetamine, but that wasn't necessarily a bad thing. It felt clean, functional and easy to manage. Rather than feeling euphoric or driven to keep redosing, I simply felt more focused and more able to concentrate on whatever I was doing.
One thing that surprised me was that I could actually eat normally while on it. Typically with most stimulants my appetite is cut.
The only downside was the body load. Despite being relatively mild mentally, my jaw was clenched and shaking.
Overall, I think methylphenidate is an excellent functional stimulant, but not one I'd consider recreational.
