MDMA
Overview
3,4-Methylenedioxymethamphetamine (MDMA) is a synthetic empathogen and stimulant commonly known for producing intense feelings of empathy, emotional openness, euphoria, and increased sociability. It is commonly used in festivals, concerts, clubs, and at home with close friends.
Unlike traditional stimulants, MDMA's primary appeal comes from its emotional effects rather than pure stimulation. Many users report feeling unusually connected to others, emotionally vulnerable, affectionate, and appreciative of music and physical touch.
Because MDMA temporarily releases large amounts of serotonin, it is generally recommended to use it infrequently to reduce the risk of diminished effects and prolonged after-effects. The experience is often followed by a comedown that may include fatigue, low mood, and reduced motivation over the following days.

My Review
Overall Experience
The first time I tried MDMA, it completely blew my mind. It felt unlike anything I had ever experienced before. Everything seemed brighter, time felt like it was moving a hundred miles an hour, and I felt incredibly light, energetic and social. It gave me this overwhelming urge to talk to everyone around me, you could meet a complete stranger and within minutes feel like you've known them your entire life. It's easy to understand why so many people fall in love with the experience after trying it once.
Unfortunately, I didn't respect the drug the way I should have and for a period of around three months I abused it heavily, sometimes taking well over a gram in a session and rolling every few days. Unsurprisingly, it didn't take long before the magic completely disappeared.
Even before that, though, I realized MDMA wasn't really the type of drug I was looking for. While most people love the empathy, emotional openness and "forced love" it creates, I found myself much more interested in clean stimulation and productivity. A lot of the time I only used MDMA because I couldn't get amphetamine or another stimulant, so it became more of a substitute than something I genuinely wanted.
After enough use, it became bland. The euphoria faded, the emotional effects stopped feeling special and I was just left with side effects. Nowadays I have very little desire to use MDMA again. I might still take it occasionally in the right setting with close friends, but it's no longer a drug that excites me or one I'd actively seek out.
What I Enjoyed
- Drive/Motivation
- Anti-Anxiety effects
- Made me do crazy stunts early in the morning high as hell
What I Didn't Enjoy
- Body load - It's unbearable for me and lasts 1-2 days
- Crashes, and not because of the sadness because of the pure exhaustion
- Forced feelings of love, it feels fake
Would I Use It Again?

Tips & Harm Reduction
Practical Tips
- Test your MDMA before use, as pills and powders may contain unexpected substances.
- Measure doses accurately rather than estimating.
- Stay hydrated, but avoid excessive water intake.
- Take breaks from dancing to avoid overheating.
- Eat a balanced meal before the experience, as appetite is often reduced during the peak.
Harm Reduction
- Avoid frequent use; allowing several weeks or months between sessions may reduce tolerance and prolonged after-effects.
- Avoid combining with other serotonergic substances unless you understand the risks.
- Seek medical attention if someone experiences severe overheating, confusion, seizures, or loss of consciousness.
- Be cautious with redosing, as it can increase side effects and may worsen the comedown.
